EIES is for European Information Exchange Service
It is an ACTS european project (promotion of the ATM technology), developped within the fourth framework
Its main objective is to build a pilot network between 4 port zones: Breme in Germany, Brest and Bordeaux in France, and Santander in Spain. The network uses a multi-media communication system between the port actors.

GeoNet 4D is for Geocentric Multimedia Networked Environment.
It is an ESPRIT European Project, fourth framework
Its main objective is to show the usefulness of combining existing technologies, multimedia, internet/intranet and geographical information system for the European users. Geonet 4D concentrates specially on commercial use and environment protection for the port activities.
