Objectif :
Les technologies de communication et d'information applicables au domaine maritime, le point de la situation en l'an 2000, les perspectives pour le 21ème siècle et l'évaluation de leur impact sur les économies régionales.
Faire le point sur l'évolution des nouvelles technologies de communication et d'information dans le domaine maritime et assurer ainsi le suivi des conférences Marcom 1996, 1997 et 1998 initiées par l'Agence de Coopération pour l'Europe de la Mer, la Société Expertel dans le cadre du projet E.I.E.S (European Information Exchange Services between Ports)
La conférence MARCOM 2000 constituera aussi un moyen fort utile pour diffuser auprès des PME/PMI des régions périphériques et maritimes les résultats des projets de recherche menés à leur terme à l'issue du 4ème Programme Cadre de Recherche et de Développement et initiés par le 5ème P.C.R.D (Programme cadre de Recherche et de Développement) Elle sera également une opportunité pour les Entreprises, Universités, Instituts de recherche des pays candidats à l'adhésion à l'Union Européenne de présenter l'état de leurs travaux dans ce domaine.
